Snowbike for blind people

Snowbike-Fun is happy to announce to have successfully instructed Claudio, their 1^st blind participant, on the snowbike. Claudio was delighted to be able to master the snowbike after such a short time and to make rapid progress immediately. See our video

After a brief introduction by our Snowbike-Fun instructor, Claudio, along with his accompanying person, snow sports instructor Didier, and under the supervision of Snowbike-Fun, enjoyed the first half day to his fullest, cheering and laughing. He was continually delighted by the cool sports equipment, which opened up new possibilities for him in snow sports.

Two days later, the next half day with Didier and Snowbike-Fun followed. A few weeks later, Claudio and Didier were out on their own. A complete success and lots of fun on the slopes.

• 1/2 day Event (3-4 hours)
  • Snowbike-Fun is happy to offer other blind people the opportunity to have great fun on the slopes:
  • Select and chose together the Brenter Snowbike equipment, incl. foot skis (for ski boots)
  • The accompanying person comes with own skis / snowboard
  • A short Snowbike instruction of approx. 30-45 minutes for the accompanying person can be arranged previously if asked for.

1^st Event procedure:
Transport priority with gondola on first event

• A Snowbike-Fun instructor accompanies and guides the blind person on the snowbike for 30-40 minutes, without a radio.
• The accompanying person drives alongside to observe and learn how the snowbike reacts.
• After a while the accompanying person takes over and provides instruction via radio (as usual) and guides the blind person on the slopes.
• The snowbike instructor rides alongside and offers tips for better snowbike handling.
• After the event, there is a debriefing and access to the Brenter Snowbike certificate, so the blind person can then rent a Snowbike on her/his own.

2nd Event procedure (sample):

• Accompanying person and blind person independently organize further events
• with the issued Brenter Snowbike Certificate they can rent Snowbike and foot ski equipment at mentioned locations
• optional a Snowbike-Fun instructor can be asked to join

3rd Event procedure (sample):

• Accompanying person and blind person independently organize further events
• they rent Snowbike and foot ski equipment at mentioned locations
• Transport on Ski lift / chair lift training (maybe already in 2^nd Event)
  A special thank you goes to the employees of Saanenwald-Hornberg chairlift and Hornberg ski lift who have supported Claudio and Didier really very forthcoming.
